The evening light had waned to a tender orange, casting a lethargy over the streets that naturally came with the end of another day. Most of the town's locals had removed themselves from shops and pathways, leaving plenty of room for the more unsavoury creatures, the darkness amplifying their animal spirits. Upon observing several prone vermin sprawled in the gutter, some unconscious but most just off their faces, Rathnait decided that it was never too early to get drunk.
The hedgehog smiled to herself, reciting quick words: "Dirty streets adorned with The pirates, the drink, the stench— Running back and again, repeating this pattern, 'O! the poor barmaid's wench!"
She laughed with black humour, then skirted a glistening patch of what she hoped was beer and retired to the sidepath. Her dark eyes—too intelligent and critical to suit the rest of her pleasant, common countenace—scanned a shop window with indifference, then manoeuvered awkwardly around a small collection of vixens. Their vivacious babbling seized long enough for each to direct a frosty glare in her direction, and she smiled back at them with perfect impudence. Twisting her body back 'round the right way, Rathnait only had a brief and brilliant moment of recognition before she ploughed right into a wall of flesh.
Due to the inconvenience of her bulk, once the maid lost her balance it was all downhill; without even the reflex of her arms, she fell heavily against the stranger. Rathnait recovered quickly, picking up her cap and dusting it off, remarking to the stranger whilst perched comfortable on it's chest, "You'd think nature would make creatures with spikes a little more graceful-looking, wouldn't you? Season's know I wouldn't trust a snake to weild a sword! But what can you do?"
She set her cap atop her head, then peered into the unfortunate's stranger's face; her gaze was quick to upbraid, but her lips were pulled into an arch smile. "I think you ought to know you look awfully foolish on the ground, but I suppose that's my fault. I do apologise, my dear."
OOC:// Open to all, although I would prefer someone big and mean who now wants to nom her. Spiky sammich, nomnomnom! ♥
